Welcome to America 250! In 2026, we celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary with a series of short films narrated by historians, professors, and elected officials exploring the origins of American ideals.
In this opening program, we'll hear about the Declaration of Independence, tracing its impact through history, illuminating the founding principles of the United States.
Professor Wilfred McClay surveys the first battle of the American Revolution, provides reflection on Longfellow’s poem “Revere’s Midnight Ride”, and the power of preserving history for successive generations.
