About the event
Welcome to America 250! In 2026, we celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary with a series of short films narrated by historians, professors, and elected officials exploring the origins of American ideals.
In this session, Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn discusses the meaning rooted in the laws of nature, the structure, and legislative act of the Declaration of Independence created by our Founders at the Second Continental Congress.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth narrates the establishment of a national army by the Second Continental Congress in the Spring of 1775 and appointment of George Washington as general and commander in chief. Reflection on today’s military built on the legacy of the ordinary people that answered the call for liberty.
