New! Learn about the history, myth and legacy of the American West presented by Prof. Patrick Allitt.
Each session includes (2) 30 min segments, this day in history trivia and discussion.
The 1763 Treaty of Paris, overcrowding, disease and conflict with Indian tribes sparked American colonists to venture beyond the Appalachians. We'll learn about the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 to regulate settlements and issues due to expansion.
The Louisiana Purchase in 1803 was one of the top real estate deals in our history. We'll see how this prompted the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804-06.
