About the event
Learn about the history, myth and legacy of the American West presented by Prof. Patrick Allitt.
Each session includes (2) 30 min segments, this day in history trivia and discussion.
We continue with with fur traders and mountain men. Legendary figures John Jacob Astor, Kit Carson and Jedediah Smith dominate the scene.
We also look at one of the most dismal chapters in our history, the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and subsequent “Trail of Tears”.
