Today, we're celebrating you!
Annually, October 1 is designated by the UN as a day to raise awareness about issues affecting the elderly. One of this year's objectives is to work to eliminate ageism and age discrimination.
Fast Facts
1 in 5 U.S. workers is age 55+.
64 % of workers say they experienced age discrimination in the workplace.
58% believe age discrimination began while in their 50's.
3 out of 4 women experience age discrimination in the workplace.
Not just in the workplace, older adults experience ageism during daily life, especially when it comes to technical know-how. Have people treated you like a dinosaur when it comes to that new smart phone or app?
Out of the Box celebrates you and the richness of your life experiences.
